PELLA, Iowa – The Nebraska Wesleyan University wrestling team battled through a full day of competition at the Central Under Armour Invitational on Saturday. Facing a strong field, the Prairie Wolves showcased their grit and determination with several wrestlers advancing in their brackets and gaining valuable experience.
Senior Jared Gallub was a standout for NWU, securing a fifth-place finish in the 141-pound Gold Division. Gallub wrestled his way through a tough bracket, earning a pair of wins by decisions and capping his day with a one point decision win in the fifth-place bout. At 125 pounds in the Silver Division, sophomore Ivan Duero reached the consolation finals, highlighted by a tech fall victory in the consolation semifinals.
NWU also saw a big contribution from Travis Guzman (157 Gold Division), who placed fifth.
