LINCOLN, Neb. (September 6th, 2024) - Nebraska Wesleyan Volleyball continued its strong start to the season with a pair of five set victories on Friday. Nebraska Wesleyan is now 5-1 on the season.
WISCONSIN-EAU CLAIRE
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Blugolds of Wisconsin-Eau Claire dominated the first set from start to finish, winning 25-12. Nebraska Wesleyan responded with a gutsy 25-23 victory in set two. The set saw 15 ties and eight lead changes. With the score tied at 23, A service error by Eau Claire gave Nebraska Wesleyan a one point lead.
Lily Ziebarth put the set away with an ace on the ensuing play.
Aliah Clarke had three kills in set two. The Prairie Wolves would not trail in set three, and won by a comfortable 25-18 margin.
Addie Thomas recorded four kills in the set. The Blugolds refused to quit in set four, taking the set 25-16. Eau Claire took control of set five early, and built a 10-6 lead. However, a service error by the Bluegolds set a rally in motion, as NWU outscored Eau Claire nine to three to secure a 15-13 comeback victory.

George Fox came out firing in set one and built a 14-7 lead. Nebraska Wesleyan would answer with a nine to one run to take a 16-15 lead. After George Fox tied the game at 16, it was all Prairie Wolves, as NWU outscored George Fox 9-5 to earn a come from behind set one victory. George Fox would take set two by a score of 25-19. Ella Foote and
Molly Ramirez each had two kills. The Bruins took a back and forth set four 27-25. The set saw five lead changes.
Addie Thomas had six kills in the set, and her teammate
Aliah Clarke had three. Nebraska Wesleyan bounced back in set five, as the Prairie Wolves never trailed and won 15-9.
