Box Score LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan University's women's tennis team faced a challenge against the conference champions, Luther College, falling 9-0 on Saturday, September 28. Despite a valiant effort, the Prairie Wolves were unable to secure a win in a hard-fought contest.
In doubles action, NWU battled but couldn't break through Luther's strong pairings. The team of Crystal Craft and Addi Duranski fell 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Ella Ford and Anna Burt lost 6-0 at No. 2 doubles. Parker Brown and Gracey Smith were also defeated 6-0 at No. 3 doubles, putting Luther ahead heading into singles play.
The singles matches showcased competitive moments, with Anna Burt nearly pulling off a victory at No. 4 singles. After winning the second set 6-1, she narrowly lost a third-set tiebreaker 10-8. Crystal Craft also pushed her opponent, losing a tightly contested first set 7-5 before dropping the second 6-3 at No. 1 singles.
Ella Ford and Addi Duranski put up tough fights at No. 2 and No. 5 singles, respectively, but were ultimately overpowered in straight sets. Ford fell 6-3, 6-4, while Duranski lost 6-3, 6-1. Parker Brown and Gracey Smith struggled at No. 3 and No. 6 singles, each losing in straight sets.
