Women's Tennis Hits the Road for Three Match Gauntlet

LINCOLN, Neb. (September 24th, 2024) - After extending their winning streak to three with a victory over Simpson, Nebraska Wesleyan women's tennis is set to hit the road for matches against Wartburg, Coe, and Luther.

LOCATION & MATCH TIME
Nebraska Wesleyan will visit Wartburg on Thursday, September 26. The match will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Meirink Family Tennis Facility in Waverly, Iowa. Day two of the road trip will see Nebraska Wesleyan take on Coe at the Clark Racquet Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This match is also set to begin at 4:00 p.m. NWU will conclude the road trip with a 10:00 a.m. match at Luther College on Saturday, September 28. The match will take place at the Luther College tennis courts in Decorah, Iowa.

ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Nebraska Wesleyan (4-2, 2-1 A-R-C) enters this week riding a three-match winning streak. The Prairie Wolves defeated Simpson College 4-3 in their last match, with Parker Brown, Addi Duranski, and Gracey Smith each picking up singles victories. In doubles play, two NWU pairs also earned victories. In singles action, Nebraska Wesleyan has posted a 20-15 record.

HEAD COACH LEE STEINBROOK 
Lee Steinbrook is entering his sixth year as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. Under his leadership, the Prairie Wolves have continued to grow and compete at a high level, with multiple players earning conference honors. Steinbrook's commitment to developing both the athletic and academic skills of his players has been a cornerstone of the team's success.

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN WOMEN'S TENNIS HISTORY
Nebraska Wesleyan has a history of success in women's tennis, winning 16 conference regular season championships and seven conference tournament championships.

A LOOK AT WARTBURG
Wartburg enters Thursday's match with a 4-4 overall record. The Knights moved to 2-2 in American Rivers Conference play after defeating Buena Vista 7-0 on Tuesday, September 17. Wartburg is coached by Chris Gustas, who is in his ninth season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST WARTBURG
Thursday's match will mark the ninth meeting between the Prairie Wolves and Knights. Wartburg holds a 7-1 series lead.

A LOOK AT COE
Coe enters this week with a 1-2 record. The Kohawks are 1-1 in American Rivers Conference play. Prior to facing NWU, Coe will square off against Dubuque on Wednesday, September 25. The Kohawks are coached by Mike Strydom, who is in his fifth season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST COE
Friday will mark the 10th meeting between the Prairie Wolves and Kohawks. Coe holds a 9-0 series lead.

A LOOK AT LUTHER
Luther enters this week with a 4-1 record. The Norse are 4-0 in American Rivers Conference play. Prior to facing NWU, Luther will square off against Loras on Tuesday, September 24, and Buena Vista on Friday, September 27. The Norse are coached by Adam Strand, who is in his 14th season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST LUTHER
Saturday will mark the ninth meeting between the Prairie Wolves and Norse. Luther holds an 8-0 series lead.
