Box Score LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan University women's tennis secured a 4-3 victory over Simpson o nFriday. The Prairie Wolves wasted no time, clinching the team victory early with decisive wins in doubles and three singles matches from Parker Brown, Addi Duranski, and Gracey Smith.
NWU took charge from the start in doubles play, sweeping all three matches. Crystal Craft and Addi Duranski earned a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles over Tranquilino and Peck. At the No. 2 spot, Ella Ford and Parker Brown posted a strong 6-2 victory over Walls and Hynek. The duo of Anna Burt and Gracey Smith dominated at No. 3 doubles, shutting out Schewe and Hall 6-0.
Singles play continued in NWU's favor, with quick wins in the middle of the lineup. Parker Brown delivered a stellar performance at No. 3 singles, defeating Walls 6-3, 6-0. Addi Duranski cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Hall at No. 5 singles, while Gracey Smith wrapped up her match at No. 6 with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Schewe.
Despite some tough battles in the top two spots, Craft fell 2-6, 5-7 to Tranquilino at No. 1 singles, and Ford dropped a close match 6-7 (4-7), 4-6 to Peck at No. 2 singles. However, NWU's depth and early wins proved to be the difference in the match.
