Box Score LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan University women's tennis put up a strong fight but fell short in a 5-2 loss against Concordia University (Neb.) on Tuesday. Despite the loss, the Prairie Wolves showed impressive growth in doubles play, earning the doubles point with two key victories.
The duo of Addi Duranski and Crystal Craft dominated in the top doubles spot, defeating Concordia's Blough and Lopez, 6-1. Ella Ford and Parker Brown followed with a hard-fought 7-5 victory over the Derman sisters in the second doubles match, securing the doubles point for NWU. However, Concordia's Richert and Kramer managed to take the third doubles match, 6-2, against Anna Burt and Caitlin Hudson.
In singles, the Prairie Wolves faced tough competition. Anna Burt delivered an outstanding performance in the No. 4 singles spot, winning a three-set thriller 6-2, 4-6, 10-8. Despite strong efforts, the rest of the NWU singles lineup struggled against Concordia's talent. Craft, Ford, Duranski, and Hudson all fell in straight sets, while Brown battled hard in a three-set loss at No. 3 singles, ultimately falling 3-6, 7-5, 4-10.
