Lincoln, Neb. (April 27th, 2024)- Nebraska Wesleyan fell to Wartburg College on Saturday afternoon by a score of 6-3. In what was originally scheduled to be a two game series, the second game was canceled due to weather.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wartburg jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning.
- A second inning Paige Davison bunt scored Val Gerlach after an error by Wartburg's shortstop.
- An fourth inning error by Wartburg's shortstop enabled Becca Chloupek to score and tie the game at two.
- Wartburg responded by scoring one run in the fifth inning.
- The Knights would extend their lead to four by scoring three runs in the top of the sixth. Paige Davison would score on an error by Wartburg's first basemen in the bottom half of the inning.
- Trailing by three, Nebraska Wesleyan was unable to score in the seventh and Wartburg secured the victory.
