Track and Field Sends Team to Two Meets for the Weekend

LINCOLN, Neb. (April 19, 2024) - Nebraska Wesleyan track and field participated in two meets during the week and into the weekend. A select group of distance runners competed at the Kanas Relays, while a majority of the team went to Kearney, Nebraska, to compete in the Loper Invitational. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: KANSAS RELAYS
  • Claire Kallhoff placed fifth in the women's 10,000 meter, running it in 39:43.24.
  • Conner Ross ended the men's 10,000 meter in fourteenth place with a time of 32:35.04.

  • HOW IT HAPPENED: LOPER INVITATIONAL

  • Morgan Conner placed third in the men's 400 meter, running it in 49.18. 
  • Lachlan Pickering jumped to third in the men's triple jump, clearing 13.44 meters.
  • In the men's shot put, Garet Regier launched the weight 13.32 meters, claiming third.
  • Colin Wojtkiewicz also took third in the men's invitational shot put with a throw of 14.98 meters.
  • In men's discus, Colin Wojtkiewicz took first, throwing the disc 44.88 meters. Eric Lenz also placed in the top three after a throw of 41.21 meters. 
  • Emmilly Berglund launched the weight 12.35 meters to place third in the women's invitational shot put. 
  • In the women's discus, Emmilly Berglund placed third again, throwing the disc 39.67 meters.
  • Kaelyn Means took second in the women's invitational discus with a throw of 44.34 meters. This throw puts her at tenth in school history and tenth in the nation.
  • Ja'Dein Madison unleashed her power during the women's invitational hammer, placing third with a throw of 52.09 meters. This puts her at fifth in school history and fourteenth in the country.
  • Launching the javelin 34.53 meters, Aliah Clarke took second in the women's javelin. 
  • Avery Decker took second in the women's invitational javelin, launching it 42.17 meters.
