Game 1

• Taking a trip up north to the Mankato Dome Games, Nebraska Wesleyan softball fell in a high-scoring first game of the 2024 season to St. Olaf College, 11-9.
• The Prairie Wolves took the lead in the first inning, 4-2, with help from Bre Schneidewind. Schneidewind blasted a single through the infield to bring in two runners. 
• St. Olaf bounced back and took a very sizable lead in the 4th inning after scoring four runs to make the score, 9-5. 
• After Jenna Kimberling's home run gave the P-Wolves two more runs in the seventh inning, the Black and Gold made one more effort to win the game, 11-9.
• The Prairie Wolves were unable to even the score and were defeated in their first regular season game of the year. Elise Warnke took the loss in the pitcher's circle for NWU. The fifth-year senior gave up eight runs on 11 hits and struck out two.

Game 2

• The Prairie Wolves won decidedly against the Wildcats of St. Catherine University to close out their first day in Minnesota, 7-2. 
• The first two innings were slow for both teams before an RBI by Kamdyn Sprunk gave Nebraska Wesleyan their first run of the game. 
• The Wildcats retaliated with two runs of their own in the next inning. 
• The P-Wolves regained control in the fourth with five runs, including a three-run home run by Hanna Roth, making the score 6-2.
• Lyndsey Roth cemented the win for the Prairie Wolves in the 5th inning with a double to extend the Black and Gold's lead, 7-2.
• Pitcher, Kenna Ford was lights out for NWU. The junior pitched a complete game, tallying two strikeouts and allowing just five hits to earn the win.
