LINCOLN, Neb. (December 29th, 2024) - After a brief Christmas break, Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball returns to the court for a pair of games at the Concordia Holiday Classic.

LOCATION, GAME TIME, LIVE STREAM & LIVE STATS
Nebraska Wesleyan will play Pacific University and the University of Southern Maine during their trip to Texas. The Prairie Wolves will take on the Boxers on Sunday, December 29th, and the Huskies on Monday, December 30th. Both games are slated to tip off at 1:00 p.m. Concordia University will host both games at Concordia Fieldhouse, in Austin, Texas. Flohoops will live stream each game. Concordia will carry live stats.

ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Nebraska Wesleyan (7-2, 2-0 A-R-C) defeated Dubuque, 74-72 in their last game, and enters Sunday afternoon on a five game winning streak. Through nine games, Nebraska Wesleyan has scored an average of 71.9 points per game, and allowed an average of 65.6 points per game. The Prairie Wolves carry a shooting percentage of 41.6%, with a 36.7% clip from beyond the arc. NWU has also been efficient at drawing fouls, and shoots 75.5% from the charity stripe. The Prairie Wolves play an unselfish brand of basketball with 113 assists on the season.The Black and Gold have been efficient on the boards, recording 40 rebounds per game. Defensively the Prairie Wolves average 7.3 steals and 4.4 blocks per game.

HEAD COACH DALE WELLMAN
Dale Wellman is in his 11th season as the head coach of Nebraska Wesleyan Men's Basketball, having led the Prairie Wolves to numerous accomplishments, including a national championship in 2018. Under his guidance, the program has seen five A-R-C Regular Season titles and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. Wellman boasts an all-time record of 201-70. 

CHAMPIONSHIP CULTURE
Nebraska Wesleyan boasts a history of basketball excellence. Winning the national championship in 2018 and finishing runner-up in 1997, the Prairie Wolves have made five NCAA Division III Final Fours, appeared in 18 NCAA Division III tournaments, and won 16 conference championships. 

SCOUTING THE BOXERS
Pacific enters Sunday afternoon with a 4-3 overall record. The Boxers were defeated by Schreiner University, 85-83, in their last game. Through seven games, the Boxers have scored an average of 85.1 points per game, and allowed 72.3 points per game. Pacific carries a 43.0% shooting percentage, with a 31.1% mark from deep. The Boxers shoot 73.3% from the free throw line. Pacific is led by Justin Lunt who is in his sixth year as head coach.

Sunday will mark the first meeting between Nebraska Wesleyan and Pacific.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
USM enters this weekend with a 5-5 overall record. Prior to facing NWU, the Huskies will take on Concordia University at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 29th. Through 10 games, the Huskies have scored an average of 83.1 points per game, and allowed 84.8 points per game. USM carries a 48.1% shooting percentage, with a 36.2% mark from deep. The Huskies shoot 72.1% from the free throw line. Southern Maine is led by interm head coach Mikey Coppersmith.
