INDIANOLA, Iowa (November 2nd, 2024) - Nebraska Wesleyan kicked off the Colton McCrystal era on Saturday at the Luther Hill Invite.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Nebraska Wesleyan sent 17 athletes to compete at the invite and finished with 103 points in the open division. The Prairie Wolves had two athletes that finished in the top three in the open division. In the 149 weight class,
Travis Guzman earned 18 points and finished in third. Guzman bounced back from an early defeat and won three consecutive matches to earn a spot in the third place match, where he defeated Quincy College's Humberto Pintor by fall.
Emilio Chavez was defeated in his opening match by decision, but responded by winning four straight matches, the last of which being a third place match victory over Central's Colby Tool.
The freshman/sophomore division saw 13 Prairie Wolves compete, with the team posting a score of 14.5 points.
