LINCOLN, Neb. (November 19, 2024) - After finishing second at the Bill Merris Tournament last weekend, Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball is set for a home opening showdown with Colorado College this Sunday.

ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Nebraska Wesleyan enters Sunday's contest sporting a 2-2 record. The Prairie Wolves last competed at the Bill Merris Tournament, where they defeated Franklin College, 65-62, before falling to Illinois College, 66-57, in the championship game. Through four games, Nebraska Wesleyan has scored an average of 67 points per game, and allowed an average of 67.30 points per game. The Prairie Wolves carry a shooting percentage of 38.3%, with a 33.7% clip from beyond the arc. NWU has also been efficient at drawing fouls, and shoots 72.4% from the charity stripe. The Prairie Wolves play an unselfish brand of basketball with 31 assists on the season. The Black and Gold have also been scrappy on the glass bringing down 41 rebounds per game. HEAD COACH DALE WELLMAN
Dale Wellman is in his 11th season as the head coach of Nebraska Wesleyan Men's Basketball, having led the Prairie Wolves to numerous accomplishments, including a national championship in 2018. Under his guidance, the program has seen five A-R-C Regular Season titles and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. Wellman boasts an all-time record of 196-70.
HOME SWEET HOME
Snyder Arena has been a death star for opposing teams in recent years. Since joining the American Rivers Conference in 2016, Nebraska Wesleyan holds an 81-15 record at home, with five seasons consisting of double digit home wins, including back to back 15-1 home campaigns in 2018-19 and 2019-20.

Colorado College enters Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 record. The Tigers fell to Hanover College, 72-68, in their last game. Through three games, The Tigers have scored an average of 78.0 points per game, while allowing 69.3 points per game. Colorado College carries a 48.4% shooting percentage, with a 28.3% mark from deep. The Tigers shoot an acceptable 70.5% from the free throw line. Colorado College is led by fifth year head coach Jeff Conarroe.
