Nebraska Wesleyan Falls in Three Sets to Dubuque

LINCOLN, Neb. (November 1, 2024) – Nebraska Wesleyan University women's volleyball was swept by the University of Dubuque, falling 3-0 at Snyder Arena. The Prairie Wolves now hold a 17-8 overall record and are 4-3 in American Rivers Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Prairie Wolves opened the match with a strong effort but fell short in a closely contested first set, losing 25-22. Nebraska Wesleyan's offense was led by outside hitter Kobie Patten, who tallied four kills in the opening set, supported by setter Elecea Saathoff's 11 assists. Despite Patten's efforts, Dubuque's defense proved challenging, keeping NWU from gaining momentum in critical moments. Addie Thomas and Ella Foote both contributed at the net, each with a solo block in the first.

In the second set, Dubuque took control with a 25-13 win, as NWU struggled to counter the Spartans' offense. Addie Thomas contributed defensively with 12 digs and added five kills on the attack. The Prairie Wolves battled to close the gap in the third set, with Thomas and Patten both putting up a pair of kills, but ultimately Dubuque prevailed 25-17 to complete the sweep.
