Box Score LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Wesleyan University women's tennis team pulled off an impressive 4-3 victory against the University of Saint Mary (KS) on Tuesday, October 1. The Prairie Wolves showcased their resilience by storming back in singles play after trailing in doubles action.
In doubles competition, NWU battled but fell short in two of three matches. The team of Crystal Craft and Addi Duranski lost a closely contested match at No. 1 doubles, 6-4. At No. 2 doubles, Ella Ford and Parker Brown pushed their opponents to the limit but were narrowly defeated 7-5. However, the No. 3 doubles team of Anna Burt and Gracey Smith gave NWU a boost, delivering a dominant 6-0 win.
The momentum carried into singles play, where the Prairie Wolves turned the tide. Anna Burt set the tone with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles over Wiemers. At No. 5 singles, Addi Duranski followed suit with a flawless performance, winning 6-0, 6-0. Gracey Smith continued her strong day, securing a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 6 singles.
With the match tied 3-3, Parker Brown stepped up at No. 3 singles to clinch the win for NWU. After dropping the first set 3-6, Brown battled back to win the second set 6-2 and came through in a tense third-set tiebreaker, 10-7, to secure the victory.
