Track and Field Sees Individual Wins, Personal Bests at Beile Classic

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Nebraska Wesleyan traveled to Crete, Nebraska to compete in the Fred Beile Classic.
  • The men's 60 meter dash saw Steven Dalmeida, Dallen Booker, and McClain Meyer qualify for finals. Each member of this freshman trio set a personal best during the meet and Dalmeida finished second overall.
  • In the men's 60 meter hurdles, Trystin Myers and Tanner Johnson both qualified for finals. In finals, Myers finished in second while Johnson finished fourth.
  • In the men's triple jump, Dallen Booker jumped 13.68 meters which set a new personal best and secured his first collegiate win. 
  • In the women's weight throw, Ellie Akough picked up her first victory of the season with a 16.74 meter throw.
  • The women's 60 meter dash saw Keeley Hourigan, Natalie Cummins, Kate Leimbach, Bre Geary and Kynzi Booth qualify for finals. Hourigan, Cummins, and Leimbach all set personal bests while Geary finished fourth. Booth set a personal best and picked up her second consecutive 60 meter dash victory.
  • In the women's 800, Trisha Hayes finished seventh while Kate Slama and Avary Byers both set new personal bests.
  • Claire Kallhoff set a new personal best and finished fourth in the women's mile.
  • Keeley Hourigan qualified for finals in the women's 60 meter hurdles and finished sixth overall.
  • In the women's long jump, Bre Geary jumped 5.26 meters to finish second overall.

  • "Ellie Akough won the weight throw with a toss of 54'11, the fifth best in NWU history. Kynzi Booth finished first in the 60 meter dash in 7.84, which moved her into sixth all-time."
UP NEXT
The Prairie Wolves are currently scheduled to compete at two meets next week. Athletes will compete at either the Husker Invitational or Concordia Classic. The Husker Invitational will take place at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, it is a two day meet running from February 3rd to February 4th. The start time is to be determined. The Concordia Classic will be held in Seward, Nebraska on February 3rd. The meet is scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
