HOW IT HAPPENED
Hamline University
- Nebraska Wesleyan made quick work of Hamline University on Saturday. The Prairie Wolves not only swept the Pipers, but they also hit above a .300% in all three sets.
- In Set 1, the black and gold out-killed Hamline, 16 to 11. Cain's team committed just four errors to the Pipers' five, 25-19.
- After scoring a 1-0 advantage, the Prairie Wolves didn't look back. In the second set, Nebraska Wesleyan's defense dominated. They forced seven errors and a -.081 hitting percentage, 25-12.
- Looking to complete their second sweep of the season, NWU took a quick lead in the third set and went on a 20-to-4 run. Back-to-back kills from Sidney Hauptman closed things out and put Nebraska Wesleyan back into the win column, 25-17.
Crown College
- Topping their performance against Hamline earlier in the day, the Prairie Wolves yet again swept their opponent. However, this time, Nebraska Wesleyan averaged a .341 hitting percentage offensively and didn't allow Crown College to score over 12 points.
- The black and gold's heavy pace forced the Polars to make 10 errors in Set 1 and hit just -.133, respectfully. Meanwhile, NWU went 11-for-27 in kills and recorded just three errors, 25-10.
- Nebraska Wesleyan posted their best hitting percentage in Set 2, with a .407%, 25-12.
- In the final set, Cain's squad finished on a 10-to-2 run, which was closed out by a Kobie Patten service ace, 25-7.
- In the second and third sets, the Prairie Wolves combined for 26 total kills to the Crown's eight.
