Cheer and Dance Perform In A-R-C Invitational


LINCOLN, Neb. (February 20, 2022) – The Nebraska Wesleyan Cheerleading and Gold Rush Dance teams performed in the 2022 American Rivers Conference Cheer and Dance Invitational, which was hosted by NWU in Snyder Area.

Individually, NWU's Madi Witcig earned first-team All-American Rivers Conferences honors. Witcig received a score of 19.2 in the individual dance honors competition. Witcig's score was the highest of any competitor in the contest.

The Prairie Wolves took home the hardware in the Hip-Hop Division. The Gold Rush Dance Team took first place in the division with a score of 250.5 points, six full points ahead of the next competitors. The Gold Rush finished runner-up in the Jazz Division with 261 points and was top three for the Pom Division with 242 points. 

In the cheer competition, Nebraska Wesleyan was top five in the Gameday Division. NWU scored 150.9 points for the fourth spot. 

This year's competition also marked a special milestone for cheer and dance coach, Terry Lange. Lange completed his 20th seasons as the head coach for both programs and was honored by the squads during the awards ceremony for his 20 years of service.
