Women's Basketball Tops Sarah Lawrence in OT Thriller

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Nebraska Wesleyan University comes back and defeats Sarah Lawrence College 69-66 in overtime at the Rocky Mountain Thanksgiving Classic.
  • The Prairie move to two games above .500, with a record of 4-2, and Sarah Lawrence College falls to 2-5.
  • Five Nebraska Wesleyan players scored double-digits: Anna Vandenack (12), Sarah Hultquist (12), Tessa Skelton (11), Piper Graham (11), and Brianna Denton (10). Vandenack collected her second double-double of the year, adding 11 rebounds to her resume. 
  • The black and gold dominated the Gryphons in bench points. The Prairie Wolves' reserves scored 37 points compared to Sarah Lawrence's seven.
  • Bullock's squad found themselves seven heading into the final 10 minutes of play. That was until Nebraska Wesleyan outscored their opponent 21-14. NWU shot 8-for-10 from the free-throw line and cashed in three three-pointers. 
  • Forcing overtime at 61 a piece, the Prairie Wolves weren't done yet. Points from Tess Skelton, Brianna Denton, and Avery Halliday sealed the deal.

  • "I am really proud of how the team handled adversity today. Being down double-digits late, we very easily could have throw in the towel. Instead, we stuck together, kept fighting and found a way to get it done."
