Slow Start Hurts Women's Basketball vs. Colorado College

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Prairie Wolves found themselves down 2-21 after the first 10 minutes of play. Avery Halliday got Nebraska Wesleyan on the board after a fast break basket following an Alison Davis steal. 
  • The offensive production picked up for Coach Bullock's squad in the second quarter. At halftime, the black and gold went into the locker room down 14-34. Ellie Bream ended the half, going one-for-two from the free throw line. 
  • In the final 20 minutes, the Prairie Wolves went 11-for-17 from the charity stripe compared to Colorado College's 3-for-3.
  • Nebraska Wesleyan was unable to take control in the second half and was outscored 26-to-33.
  • Half of the black and gold's 40 points came from the bench. Coach Bullock's reserves knocked down one three, drilled 10 free throws, and scored 20 points. 
  • NWU falls to 3-2 on the season as they drop Friday's contest to Colorado College, 40-67.

  • "Colorado College is a good team with size and athleticism. When you play from behind against a team like that, it is an uphill battle."
  • "Good news is we have an opportunity tomorrow to give a better effort against another good opponent. I am excited to see how our group responds.
