HOW IT HAPPENED

• On Saturday, October 1, in Waverly, Iowa, the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves were defeated by Wartburg in three sets (26-28, 11-25, 14-25 ).
• In the first set, the Prairie Wolves weren't going down without a fight. It was a close set to start as the Prairie Wolves only trailed by one at the 8-7 mark. Wartburg increased their advantage to 14-9, but Nebraska Wesleyan was able to equalize the score at 20 thanks to a service ace from Addie Thomas and two errors from the Knights. The Prairie Wolves made a late push, but the Knights won the opening set 28–26.
• After falling to the Knights 25-11 in set two, the Prairie Wolves looked to steal set three. At 4-3 to begin the third, the Knights only had a one-point lead, but they went on to increase it to 13-6. Nebraska Wesleyan scored four straight points to cut the deficit to three at 13-10, but Wartburg's offensive pressure was too strong, as they went on to win 25-14.

• "I am proud of how they battled in the first set."
