Women’s Tennis Narrowly Edged Out In Season-Opener

LINCOLN, Neb. (September 8, 2021) - In its first match of the 2021-2022 season, Nebraska Wesleyan women's tennis was narrowly defeated, 5-4, by College of St. Mary at the Lincoln Sports Foundation's Tennis Complex. NWU's lineup featured three student-athletes playing in their first-ever match as Prairie Wolves.

After dropping two of the three doubles matches, the Prairie Wolves used a win in No. 3 Doubles by Kailey Kissler and Carley Reubenking to generate momentum into singles action. Kissler and Reubenking won the doubles point with a decisive 8-4 victory.

Crystal Craft put NWU on the board at No. 3 Singles with a hard-fought three-set win. Craft dropped the first set but responded commandingly with wins in the second and third sets. Addi Duranski gave Nebraska Wesleyan its third point with an 8-2 victory at No. 4 Singles. Kailey Kissler and Carley Reubenking cruised to straight-set wins at No. 5 Singles and No. 6 Singles, respectively.
