NEW ULM, Minn. (Sept. 4, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball cruised to back-to-back wins over Martin Luther College to open the 2021 season. NWU swept both matches against the Knights (25-17, 25-23, 25-15 & 25-22, 25-8, 25-10). 

Addie Thomas paced NWU in the two matches with 25 kills. Thomas scored a game-high 13 kills in the opening match then followed up with 12 kills in the second match. Thomas also hit .283 on 60 swings. Sidney Hauptman and Mackenzie Scurto combined for 26 kills in the six sets. Hauptman finished with a .323 hitting percentage over the two matches.

Nebraska Wesleyan did damage at the service in the two wins as it had 18 aces. In game two, the Prairie Wolves landed 12 aces, the most since it finished with 12 aces against Central College last season. The duo of Scurto and Thomas registered nine aces during the two games. 

Erica Hopping and Cassidy Plooster had 34 assists and 29 assists respectively. Nyah Chambers was credited with eight blocks. Kennady Klein tallied 35 digs in the two wins.
