NWU Volleyball Adds Two Wins, Extends Streak


SUPERIOR, Wis. (September 10, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball picked up a sweep over Concordia-Moorhead and a 3-1 victory over Wisconsin-Superior to extend its winning streak to four matches.

The night cap against Wisconsin-Superior saw the Prairie Wolves unphased after dropping a thrilling first set. The opening set saw neither team lead by more than three points with Yellowjackets winning the set, 33-31. 

The second set again needed extra points but this time it was NWU that fought off set point and scored four straight points to win 26-24. In sets three and four, Nebraska Wesleyan easily cruised to victory, 25-16 and 25-15. 

In the first match of the day, the Prairie Wolves dominated Concordia-Moorhead with their third consecutive sweep. Nebraska Wesleyan recorded seven aces and forced the Cobbers into 24 attack errors. 

Addie Thomas led NWU on the day with 26 kills over the seven sets. Mackenzie Scurto added 18 kills and Sidney Hauptman landed 15 kills. Kennady Klein recorded 31 digs with Scurto tallying 30 digs. Cassidy Plooster had 35 assists with Erica Hopping adding 23 more. Plooster also laid down six of the Prairie Wolves's 15 aces.
