Women’s Tennis Falls In A Pair of Heartbreakers

LINCOLN, Neb. (September 11, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan women's tennis dropped a pair of heartbreaking matches, both the by score of 5-4, to Simpson College and Central College.

NWU took two doubles points to open the match against Simpson. Addi Duranski and Kailey Jay-Kissler won a tightly contested match at No. 2 Doubles, 8-7. Crystal Craft and Carley Rubenking also picked up a close win at No. 3 Doubles by the score of 8-7.

In singles action, Brooke Sailer earned a monumental win in No. 1 Singles. Sailer defeated the reigning conference player of the year, 6-4, 6-3. Addi Duranski picked up a win in No. 4 Singles, 6-2, 6-0. Kailey Jay-Kissler won at No. 5 Singles, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 and Carley Rubenking took No. 6 Singles convincingly, 6-1, 6-2.

NWU won a point in doubles against Central to open its second match of the day. Addi Duranski and Kailey Jay-Kissler cruised to an 8-2 victory in No. 2 Doubles.

Sailer used the momentum from the win in the first match into the second match. Sailer took the point at No. 1 Singles, easily, with a score of 6-0, 6-1. In No. 3 Singles, Crystal Craft won 6-3, 6-4 and No. 4 Singles went to Addi Duranski by a score of 6-2, 6-2.
