Aguilar Drills Overtime Game-Winner In Men’s Soccer Season Opener

LINCOLN, Neb. (Sept.1, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer (1-0) used an overtime goal just three minutes into the extra period from Alex Aguilar to finish over Dakota Wesleyan in the 2021 season opener at Abel Stadium. 

After the two teams played to a scoreless draw through the first 90 minutes, Aguilar drilled the golden goal to lift the Prairie Wolves past the Tigers. Aguilar netted the goal in the 93rd minute to secure Nebraska Wesleyan's first win of the season. Additionally, the Prairie Wolves start 1-0 for the first time since the 2018 season.

It was NWU's first non-conference game since the 2019 season due to the COVID-19 global health pandemic.
