Knapp Wins Weight Throw Title, Prairie Wolves Fifth at A-R-C Men’s Track and Field Championships


WAVERLY, Iowa ( March 7, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's track and field team finished fifth at the 2021 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Men's Track and Field Championships in Waverly, Iowa. 

Seth Knapp won the weight throw to lead NWU on the day. Knapp claimed the weight throw title with a performance of 54'-9.05" He was one of four Prairie Wolves to finish in the top eight of the event. 
 
NWU picked up a pair of runner-up finishes. Kyle Dickinson was second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.81. The 4x800-meter relay team of Gabe Anderson, Tyler Taubenheim, Javier, Kenney, and Garrett Lenners finished with a time of 7:57.96.

Nebraska Wesleyan scored 75 points as a team and was narrowly edged out of fourth place by just two points. Wartburg won the meet with 172 points. 

What's Next
The Prairie Wolves will await individual selections for the Division III Elite Indoor Championships. The elite meet will be hosted by Wartburg on March 12 and 13 in Waverly, Iowa.
