Volleyball Stuffs Central College For Second Straight Win


LINCOLN, Neb. (March 4, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball (2-2, 2-2 A-R-C) swept Central College (1-3, 1-3 A-R-C), 25-19, 25-9, 25-22 for its second straight win. 

The Praire Wolves had a season-high eight total blocks and forced the Dutch to hit just 0.60 with 25 attack errors in the victory. Kelsey Salazar-Allen led the effort at the net as she recorded one solo stuff and three block assists. Nyah Chambers added three block assists as Trisha Hayes added a solo block and two block assists to the stat line. Cassidy Plooster added to the strong defensive effort with 12 digs, her highest total this season.

NWU served up a season-best 12 aces. Kennady Klein and Chambers combined for eight aces with four apiece as Kelsie Stovall added two more. In the second set, Hannah Domandle served seven consecutive points for Nebraska Wesleyan. The Prairie Wolves also had a six-point run in the first set when Chambers was at the service line. NWU outserved CC by a total of 12-4 in the win.

Notable Stats and Performances
-Nebraska Wesleyan had a balanced offensive attack with six players recording at least three kills apiece.
-The nine points allowed by NWU in the second set is the lowest scoring output by an opponent this season. 
-The Prairie Wolves had only two service errors, the lowest amount this season.
-NWU's Kelsie Stovall recorded 10 digs, she has tallied double-digit digs in each game this season.
-Grace Hogeland finished with 14 assists, her best performance as a Prairie Wolf.
-Central's 25 attack errors and .060 hitting percentage are the lowest by a Nebraska Wesleyan opponent this season.
