Volleyball Falls In Final Road Trip Of The Spring Season

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (March 17, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball team was defeated on the road by Coe College (6-1, 6-1 A-R-C), 3-0, (25-22, 25-13, 25-14) in its final road game of the 2021 spring volleyball season.

The Prairie Wolves and Duhawks were locked into an early tussle in the first set. A kill by Shae Gallery and a service ace from Grace Hogeland tied the match at 15 points apiece as neither team led by more than two points up to that point. However, Coe rattled off three straight points and NWU could never get the lead back.

In the second and third sets, Nebraska Wesleyan went cold at the service line. It did not record an ace after landing three aces in the first set. The Duhawks attack would hit .429 in the second set and .441 in the third set. They would limit the Prairie Wolves to hit under .200 in both sets as well.

Allana Arkfeld and Hannah Domandle led a balanced NWU attack as each recorded six kills apiece. Cassidy Plooster landed 15 assists and Kelsie Stovall finished with 12 digs for Nebraska Wesleyan. Nyah Chambers was credited with two of the Prairie Wolves' three service aces.
