Women’s Basketball Clipped On The Road By Central College


PELLA, Iowa (February 22, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball team fell on the road to Central College (4-1, 4-1 A-R-C), 92-52. The Prairie Wolves were led by Johanna Vandenack and Paige Ravenscroft who both scored in double-digits. 

Vandenack notched her second career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. She went a perfect 8-for-8 at the free-throw line to move her season total to 83.8 percent. In the last two games, Vandenack is 16-for-17 from the free-throw stripe. Seven of her 10 rebounds were on the defensive glass against the Dutch, the 10 boards also tied a career-high.

For Ravenscroft, she netted 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds. It is the second time this season she has scored in double figures and the fourth time she corralled at least six rebounds. On the defensive side of the ball, Ravenscroft made her presence felt with four blocked shots, the most by an NWU defender this season, and tied for the most in an A-R-C game this season. The four blocks also helped her to lead the conference in blocked shots per game at 1.7. 

Notable Stats and Performances
-Nebraska Wesleyan's Sami Tucker and Abbie Skupa combined for 16 points.
-NWU's Tucker came off the bench to score a season-high eight points.
-Delaney Roberts a had season-best four assists for the Prairie Wolves.
-Central College's Kelsea Hurley had a game-high 18 points.

What's Next
Nebraska Wesleyan returns to Lincoln on Wednesday, February 24 against Buena Vista. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Snyder Arena.
