Central Tops Prairie Wolves In Snyder Arena

LINCOLN, Neb. (December 9, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan made its first appearance this season in Snyder Arena. NWU was defeated, 42-12, by Central College in the home opener.

After Central won the first four matches of dual, the Prairie Wolves responded with back-to-back convincing wins. Collin Quandt put Nebraska Wesleyan on the board with a convincing pin at 157-lbs. After quickly being down 4-1, Quandt turned an escape into an aggressive takedown and finished it with a pin in 2:08 to bring the crowd to their feet.

In the next match, Zeth Gerkensmeyer continued the momentum for the Prairie Wolves. Gerkensmeyer opened with a 4-3 lead after one period before putting the crowd back on their feet. Early in the second period Gerkensmeyer scored a reversal then pressed it into another NWU pin at 3:58.

Central was able to halt the Prairie Wolves over the next few matches and win the dual.

Nebraska Wesleyan is back at home on Saturday, December 18 when it hosts the Prairie Wolf duals. NWU's first of three duals that day begins at 10 a.m. in Knight Fieldhouse.
