Prairie Wolves Sweep Luther To Open Homecoming Weekend


LINCOLN, Neb. (October 8, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball team swept Luther College, 3-0, in its first homecoming match of the weekend. 

The Prairie Wolves left little doubt in their sweep of the Norse, winning the first set, 25-13 behind a .409 hitting percentage. In the second set, NWU hit .400 and cruised to victory 25-16. Luther battled in the third set but Nebraska Wesleyan scored three of the last four points to win 25-21.

Addie Thomas led a balanced NWU attack with 12 kills as Sidney Hauptman added seven kills. As a team, the Prairie Wolves landed 44 kills and had a season-best .327 hitting percentage.

Erica Hopping dished out 22 assists with Cassidy Plooster adding in 15 more. Mackenzie Scurto and Nyah Chambers each recorded two service aces. Kennady Klein tallied 14 digs and Chambers recorded three block assists to lead the defensive effort.
