Loras Pulls Away From Prairie Wolves


DUBUQUE, Iowa (October 22, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball team fell to Loras, 3-0, in Dubuque, Iowa. 

The Duhawks erased a, 17-12, NWU lead in the first set with seven consecutive points. Later, a 4-2 rally by the Prairie Wolves tied the set at 23 points each but Loras scored back-to-back points to pull away for a 1-0 match lead. 

After LC took the second set, 25-15, they opened set three with a 6-1 run. However, Nebraska Wesleyan countered with a 9-2 rally midway through the set and took a 15-13 lead. NWU needed another late rally to answer the Duhawks and got it behind a 4-1 swing started on a kill by Julia Salerno, which made it a 23-21 LC advantage. But Loras pulled away again to win the set, 25-22. 

Addie Thomas led the Prairie Wolf attack with 12 kills as Erica Hopping tallied 18 assists. Defensively, Kennedy Klein and Mackenzie Scurto recorded 15 digs apiece and Shae Gallery finished with a solo block and three block assists.
