PELLA, Iowa -- The Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves cross country teams took care of business in their final tune up before the conference championships as both the NWU men and women won the team titles at the Central College Triangular on Saturday (Oct. 24) in Pella, Iowa.
Only two teams competed in the women's race with NWU defeating Central by three points, 26-29. For the NWU men they won the triangular with a score of 34. Dubuque had 44 and Central finished with 48.
Madi Bahe was the individual champion of the women's race to highlight the Prairie Wolves women's performances. Bahe ran a time of 23:08.9 to claim the medalist honors. Her teammate,
Leah Treffer, was the runner-up with a time of 23:21.0. Also finishing in the top seven for the Prairie Wolves were
Camryn Larsen in 6th and
Jaylen Arndt in 7th. Â
For the NWU men, four runners finished in the top nine. Leading the way was
Norbert Weijenberg who ran a time of 26:41.8 to place 3rd overall as the first NWU runner to cross the finish line. Right behind him was
Pierce Pennell in 4th place with a time of 26:57.2.Â
Preston Decker was 8th and
Finian Herbert 9th as the top four NWU runners.
Next up for the Prairie Wolves will be the 2020 American Rivers Conference Championships on Nov. 7 on this same course in Pella, Iowa.
