Pella, Iowa – Nebraska Wesleyan shot only 36.2 percent dropping their sixth straight game on Saturday afternoon 81-71 to Central College in American Rivers Conference women's basketball action.
Central (10-6, 2-5) shot 51.7 percent to earn their second conference win of the season and move past Nebraska Wesleyan in the league standings.
The Dutch led for the majority of the game and never trailed past the first quarter after they established a 26-23 lead at the end of the first quarter.
NWU pulled within two points right before halftime and then cut the lead down to three points with just over two minutes to play in the third quarter. Neither team scored the final two minutes of the quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Prairie Wolves were within one point twice, including 63-62 with 7:25 left in the game. NWU then went over five minutes without a field goal as Central was able to get ahead by seven points.

Sydney Skupa cut the lead down to 73-69 with 2:27 left in the game, but the Prairie Wolves wouldn't make a field goal the rest of the way as Central ended the game on an 8-2 run.
Caitlin Navratil led the way once again for the Prairie Wolves with 22 points, making 4-8 from 3-point range.
Sydney Skupa finished with 13 points and three steals, while
McKenna Griess came off the bench for 11 points and eight rebounds.
