PELLA, Iowa – 19
th-ranked Central College handed Nebraska Wesleyan a 45-4 setback in the first American Rivers Conference wrestling road dual for the Prairie Wolves on Thursday night (Dec. 12) in Pella, Iowa.
Eron Haynes was the lone winner for the Prairie Wolves (1-2), defeating Shandon Akeo by major decision 23-13. Akeo is the returning American Rivers Conference athlete of the week and entered the night with a 16-3 record. Haynes, who is ranked #8 at 133 moves to 18-2 on the year.
The Dutch (10-2) won four matches by fall and three others by technical fall. At 157, Luke Condy of Central edged
Zeth Gerkensmeyer of NWU 9-7 in the closest match of the night.
Justin Hennessy was the other Prairie Wolves wrestler to lose by decision falling 10-3 to Duncan Lee at 285.
NWU is back at home on Saturday when they host the Prairie Wolf Duals beginning at 9 a.m. in Snyder Arena.
