OMAHA, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan kept its unbeaten record alive in conference play as the Prairie Wolves defeated College of Saint Mary 8-1 in GPAC women's tennis action on Saturday afternoon.
NWU is now 7-9 overall and 2-0 in GPAC play. The Prairie Wolves have won 10 straight regular season conference matches dating back to the 2013-14 season.
Senior
Katherine Ternent won at No. 1 singles and at No. 1 doubles as continues her strong play. She won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and joined
Natalie Cech to win 9-7 at No. 1 doubles.
All three NWU doubles teams pulled out victories on the day.
Bridget McKeegan and Tori Van De Veer won 8-3 at No. 2 and
Alex Rieke and
Torey Kogel won 8-4 at No. 3.
McKeegan was a 6-1, 4-6, 3-1 winner at No. 3 singles, Rieke won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and Kogel was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at the No. 5 spot. Rounding out the singles play was
Jaime Bridges who won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
College of Saint Mary got their only win at No. 2 singles as Katie Golka edged
Natalie Cech, 5-7, 6-4, 10-4 in the most competitive match of the day.
