LINCOLN, Neb. -- Dordt College opened the 4th quarter on a 15-4 run to pull away from the Nebraska Wesleyan University women as the Defenders defeated the Prairie Wolves 69-55 in a GPAC women's basketball contest between the bottom two teams in the league.
NWU trailed 45-44 at the end of the 3rd quarter but scored only two field goals in the first eight minutes of the fourth quarter as the offense went quiet. Dordt continued to pile on as they built up a 13-point lead and ruined the senior day festivities for the Prairie Wolves.
The Prairie Wolves and Defenders played to a two-point game at halftime despite both teams struggling on the offensive end of the floor. NWU shot just 21.4 percent from the field but trailed 24-22 as their pressure zone defense forced Dordt into 17 turnovers.
Senior
Felicia TeKolste, who moved into 3rd place on the all-time scoring list, led the way for the Prairie Wolves with 25 points. She was 10-20 from the field and 3-6 from 3-point range, but hit only 2-8 at the free throw line.
Fellow senior
