Lincoln, Neb- The Nebraska Wesleyan wrestling program won its first dual of the season as it defeated Northeastern Junior College 25-17 on Wednesday night (Dec. 7) at Snyder Arena. It marks the first dual victory since NWU brought back the varsity wrestling program this year.
Dustin Monroe and
Justin Hennessy got pins in their matches along with
Matthew Fricke picking up a major decision. Also helping NWU secure the win was
Braxton Coleman and
Ben Lodema picking up wins in their respective weight class.
In the final dual of the night the Prairie Wolves fell to Central College 47-0 in IIAC competition. The Dutch are ranked in the NCAA III Top 10.
The team will be back in action this Saturday Dec 10, when it travels to Doane University.
