LINCOLN, Neb. – Competing for the first time in the city of Lincoln, the Nebraska Wesleyan women's bowling team took part in the Sandhills Classic that was held Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 15-16) at Sun Valley Lanes.

The Prairie Wolves had the fifth highest pin total among the varsity women's teams competing and earned the No. 5 seed in the championship bracket. NWU faced Morningside College in a best 2-3 Championship Baker game match.Â

The Mustangs won the first game 179-154, then barely edged the Prairie Wolves 164-156 in the second game to earn the match play victory.

NWU averaged 605.83 in their traditional team games and 123.4 on baker games.

Larissa Huffman had the best average for Nebraska Wesleyan with a score of 136.6.Â
Nichelle Meyer had the high game for the Prairie Wolves with a 181, and was second on the team average at 131.5.

Nebraska Wesleyan will next be in action on Oct. 29-30 at the Lindenwood Invitational in St. Charles, Mo.
