SEWARD, Neb. -- Nebraska Wesleyan made just four field goals in the first half as No. 3 Concordia built up a huge halftime advantage and cruised to a 73-42 win over the Prairie Wolves in GPAC women's basketball.
The Prairie Wolves were 4-19 from the floor in the first half and trailed 42-10 at the break. Poor shooting was far from the only problem for NWU as they committed 25 turnovers against the Bulldogs pressure defense. The Bulldogs converted 25 points off those turnovers as they won their 17th straight over NWU.
Nebraska Wesleyan actually outscored Concordia 32-31 in the second half as they shot 54.2 percent from the field. The 32-point halftime deficit ballooned to as big as 44 points midway through the second half when Concordia led 64-20 with 9:07 remaining. Reserves played out the rest of the game as Nebraska Wesleyan scored 22 points the final nine minutes of the game.
Felicia TeKolste was the Prairie Wolves leading scorer with 12 points.Â
Amanda Diaz had her first career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds to go along with four blocked shots.
Concordia had 13 different players get in the scoring column as no player played more than 16 minutes in the game. Mary Janovich was 3-4 from 3-point range to score 11 points as the lone player in double figures.
NWU will continue their stretch of playing nationally-ranked opponents as they host #22 Briar Cliff on Saturday.
