LINCOLN, Neb. -- 15th-ranked Hastings College made ten 3-pointers in the game as the Broncos defeated Nebraska Wesleyan 74-48 in GPAC women's basketball action on Wednesday night (Feb. 11) at Snyder Arena.
Hastings jumped out to an early 12-0 lead and NWU only once got back within single digits as they could not cut into the Bronco lead. The Prairie Wolves kept it close through the first half and trailed 42-27 at the break.
The Broncos outscored the Prairie Wolves by 11 points in the second half as NWU shot just 28.6 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, Hastings was hot-shooting from long range as they finished 10-24 from 3-point land. Jamie Van Kirk hit four 3-pointers in the first half to score 18 points.
The Broncos were also 10-11 at the free throw line and held a +6 advantage on the glass.
For Nebraska Wesleyan, two players combined to score 36 of the team's 48 points.Â
Felicia TeKolste scored 20 points on 8-25 from the field.Â
Amanda Diaz had her best offensive performance of the season scoring 16 points and making 8-9 at the free throw line.Â
Kylee Ashley pulled down nine rebounds for NWU.
