ORANGE CITY, Iowa -- 22nd-ranked Northwestern College continued their dominance over Nebraska Wesleyan University in women's basketball with a 91-51 victory on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 19) at the Bultman Center in Orange City, Iowa.
The Red Raiders (9-4, 4-3 GPAC) extend their winning streak to 21 straight games against the Prairie Wolves, who fall to 3-7 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
NWU shot just 32 percent for the game, making only 8-27 from the field in the first half. Northwestern built up a 45-22 lead at halftime then outscored the Prairie Wolves by 17 in the second half.
Northwestern was extremely efficient on the offensive side of the court as they made 61.5 percent from the field. The Red Raiders made over 65 percent in the first half, missing only nine shots in the first 20 minutes. Three players scored in double figures for Northwestern, all three of them coming off the bench. Kassidy De Jong had a game-high 20 points.
Nebraska Wesleyan finished with two players scoring in double figures.Â
Felicia TeKolste hit her scoring average of 18 points as she went 7-20 from the field. Also scoring in double figures was
Becky Brokaw. Brokaw came off the bench to score 12 points, making 6-9 from the field.
NWU will now be off for two weeks when they next take the court on January 2.
