FREMONT, Neb. -- 4th-ranked Midland University remained undefeated on the season as they swept past Nebraska Wesleyan, 3-0, in GPAC volleyball action on Wednesday night in Fremont. The Warriors won in scores of 25-21, 25-11, 25-12.
Midland, ranked #4 in NAIA, improves to 21-0 overall and 8-0 in the GPAC. NWU falls to 6-12 and 0-6 in conference.
The Warriors pounded out 43 total kills in the match and had only 14 errors for a hitting percentage of .259. Meanwhile, NWU had only 21 kills with 21 errors for a team hit percentage of .000.
NWU never led in the first two sets but were ahead 9-8 in the third set. From there, the Warriors scored nine straight points and outscored the Prairie Wolves 17-3 to close the match.
Sid Mell and
Malory Dahl each had six kills to lead the Prairie Wolves.
Kelsey Bahe dished out 15 assists and
Kennedy Hegert had 14 digs.
KC Heimann led Midland with 12 kills.
