NWU Men Head to GPAC Tournament as #8 Seed

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- The Nebraska Wesleyan University men's soccer team received the No. 8 seed for the 2015 Great Plains Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament when the pairings were released on Saturday night (Oct. 31).

NWU will take on GPAC regular season champion and top-seeded Hastings College in the quarterfinals on Tuesday (Nov. 3) at 7 pm at Lloyd Wilson Field in Hastings, Neb.  The winner of the Prairie Wolves-Broncos matchup will face the winner of #5 Morningside vs. #4 Doane on Saturday (Nov. 7) in the semifinals.

NWU finished the regular season with a 9-7-1 overall mark and 3-6-1 record in GPAC play to sit in a tie for 7th place in the league standings with Dakota Wesleyan University.  DWU wins the tiebreaker over NWU to earn the No. 7 seed as they won the head-to-head matchup in the regular season finale.

For the Prairie Wolves, this was the first season they were eligible for the conference postseason tournament as they declared NAIA for postseason competition.  The winner of the GPAC Postseason Tournament receives an automatic bid to the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round.

Hastings won the first match between the two teams, 3-2, on Oct. 21 in Lincoln.
