LINCOLN, Neb. -- In what was likely the last volleyball match between Nebraska Wesleyan and Doane College for quite some time, the Tigers completed the season sweep of the Prairie Wolves with a 3-0 victory on Wednesday night at Snyder Arena.

Doane won the match in scores of 25-18, 25-14, 25-22.

The Prairie Wolves remain winless in the conference on the year as they drop to 0-9 in the GPAC and 6-15 overall.  Doane, who is receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 poll, improves to 15-9 and 6-4 in GPAC play.

Doane controlled the Prairie Wolves in the first two sets as they had a combined 28 kills with just five errors.  Meanwhile, NWU had a negative hitting percentage in the first set and had only nine kills with five errors in set two.

Set three was much more competitive as the Prairie Wolves put up a strong fight and would not go down easy.  NWU stayed close the entire set and tied it up at 22-22 on an error by the Tigers.  Two straight blocks by Doane and an error by the Prairie Wolves completed the victory for the Tigers at 25-22.

Doane hit .311 as a team with 46 total kills.  Shelbi Mlynczak led the way with 12 kills, while Kaitlin Bradley had a double-double of 10 kills and 14 digs. 

For the Prairie Wolves, Kierra Harder had eight kills.  Kelsey Bahe dished out 19 assists and Kennedy Hegert registered 18 digs to lead the team in that category once again.

NWU will have two more home matches this week as they host nationally-ranked Northwestern College on Friday, then play Briar Cliff on Saturday afternoon.
