MITCHELL, S.D. -- A six-point first half lead disappeared quickly as Nebraska Wesleyan went 8:43 without a field goal to allow Dakota Wesleyan build up a big halftime lead and earn a 85-70 victory in GPAC women's basketball action Sunday afternoon at the World's Only Corn Palace.
NWU led 26-20 with just under 9:00 to play in the first half and the Prairie Wolves were clicking on all cylinders. From there, Dakota Wesleyan closed the first half on a 29-5 run to take a 49-31 lead into halftime. During the final 8:43 of the first half, NWU managed an
Alli Kalal 3-pointer and two free throws from

The second half also started slow for the Prairie Wolves as they did not get a point until the 16:46 mark on a putback by
Kylee Ashley.Â
NWU did continue to chip away at the Tigers lead and cut it down to nine points on one occasion. DWU would respond with big 3-pointers and hold off any last minute runs by the Prairie Wolves.

Bridget Bucher also reached double figures with 17 points and seven rebounds.Â
