St. Louis, Mo. -- It was a successful trip to St. Louis for the Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer team as they picked up a pair of victories over the weekend to even their record at 2-2.  NWU defeated Fontbonne 1-0 on Saturday, then shutout Webster 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Nebraska Wesleyan got a late goal from Joe Platten to earn the 1-0 win at Fontbonne.  Platten scored the match's only goal in the 77th minute for the first goal of the season for the Prairie Wolves.  NWU had been shutout in its first two matches, but turned the table at Fontbonne.  Andy Larson had three saves and earned the shutout in goal for NWU.

With the momentum from Saturday's victory, the Prairie Wolves closed the long road trip with a match at Webster University.  Nebraska Wesleyan scored two first half goals and added another in the second half to earn the 3-0 victory.

Brady Blazek was the offensive difference maker for Nebraska Wesleyan as he scored two goals in the match.  Blazek got the scoring started in the first half with a goal in the 8th minute.  Later in the half, Ryan Anderson got into the scoring act as he got a goal in the 29th minute off an assist from Luke Thaller.

Blazek would get his second goal of the match just over two minutes into the second half to put the Prairie Wolves up 3-0.  From there, the NWU defense posted their second straight shutout.  Andy Larson and Christian Lomax combined together for the shutout.
