Box Score STORM LAKE, IOWA -- Nebraska Wesleyan extended its winning streak to three matches on Wednesday night (Sept. 10) as the Prairie Wolves went on the road to defeat Buena Vista University 1-0 in men's soccer action in Storm Lake, Iowa.
After dropping the first two matches of the 2014 season, NWU has now posted three straight victories to improve to 3-2 overall. BVU falls to 2-1-1 with the loss as they were handed their first loss of the season.
Brady Blazek scored the match's only goal as he got a goal just five minutes into the match. Blazek found the goal on an assist from
Joe Platten at the 5:12 mark of the first period.
From there, neither team was able to score again with the Prairie Wolves coming on out on top 1-0.
Andy Larson posted the shutout in goal for the Prairie Wolves with three saves.
Buena Vista did attempt one more shot in the match than NWU with eight compared to the Prairie Wolves seven. Each team had three shots on goal.
