Box Score Nebraska Wesleyan dominated from start to finish getting points in the paint on dynamic passing as the Prairie Wolves blow out Mount Marty College 78-50 in GPAC men's basketball Saturday afternoon (Feb. 22) in Yankton, S.D.

NWU finishes the regular season with a 15-10 overall and 10-10 GPAC record to end the year tied for fifth place in the league standings.  The Prairie Wolves will be the No. 5 seed in the GPAC Tournament and play at the No. 4 seed Hastings College on Wednesday night (Feb. 26) at 8 pm.

With the win, the Prairie Wolves record their highest win total since the 2000-01 season and the most in the Coach Schuknecht era.  It is also the highest GPAC finish for NWU since the first season of the league.

The game was never in doubt as the Prairie Wolves jumped out to a 35-12 lead at halftime.  It was the lowest scoring total in a half for an NWU opponent.  The Lancers shot just 18.2 percent in the first half, while NWU hit 53.6 percent.

Nebraska Wesleyan dominated in the paint as Trent Scheitel, Trevor Johnson and Tim Schweitzer combined for 39 points hitting 19-23 from the field.  NWU hit only 4-16 from 3-point range but they relied on a heavy dose of inside play where the Lancers had no answer.
