The Nebraska Wesleyan University women's tennis team opened the 2014 season with a pair of losses to larger universities over the weekend.

NWU dropped a 9-0 decision at NCAA Division I Nebraska-Omaha on Friday night in Omaha and lost 9-0 to NCAA Division II Augustana College on Saturday afternoon at Woods Park in Lincoln.

Against the Mavericks on Friday at Hanscom Park in Omaha, UNO swept all six singles matches in two sets.  They won the three doubles matches with the closest at No. 2 doubles as Jennifer Heywood & Hannah Husmann lost 8-2.

On Saturday they face Augustana who was ranked #3 in the Central Region of NCAA II and 38th in the country.  Two of the Vikings players were ranked in the top 15 of the region.  Augustana won 6-0, 6-0 in four of the six singles matches.
